3rd-Semester Project "Daily Soap"

Taking a new look at the daily bathroom rituals, especially the usage and storage of cosmetic articles. Following an analysis of their personal habits and movements, the teams designed and built their new storage units.

3rd-Semester Project "Fireplace", sponsored by Ulrich Brunner GmbH

This project rethought  the traditional fireplace, and, based on the technologie supplied
by Brunner GmbH, sought to show the way forward for this ancient social ritual - the
fireplace.
Each design represents a different living concept, based on the architectural significance of a living fire within the room.

3rd-Semester Project "Sit Down"

The aim of this 14-week project was the design of mobile, that is to say transportable seating unit, which can be folded, stacked or taken apart when not in use. 
A further requirement was to aim at short-run manufacture of fifty pieces, not to create a one-off.

4th-Semester Project: Handicraft

A very open brief allowed the students to research the ergonomics of many different tools and other objects related to the human hand. After a detailed research phase, new solutions were developed using plaster or wooden prototypes, before final design-models, often in cast resin, were produced and tested.

3rd-Semester Project: "Sit-Up"

A fourteen-week project investigating different forms of seating. The aim was to develop
new ways of sitting, by questioning traditional seating habits, forms and materials.
Our main theme was the choice of materials in the situational context. In addition, weight reduction and the use of innovative materials was an important aspect of the design work.
